What can be done if a final disposition on a criminal case is going to harm my immigration case?

Rosbeth:  Hello friends! Welcome to your Minute of Immigration with Attorney Luis Virguez, from Virguez Law. Attorney, we have a question from one of our viewers that says: What can be done if a final disposition on a criminal case is going to harm my immigration case?

Luis: If you have a criminal case, and you are found guilty, you will be at the disposal of the court. And if your case is very serious, you will have to look for an option. Normally, you could request – depending on the county and type of case – a modification of disposition. Then, if you have an immigration case and are being petitioned by your spouse or you have a case in court, is very important to get help from an attorney that specializes in this type of cases to see if they can modify those charges against you to avoid harming your immigration case.

Rosbeth: Thanks attorney. Friends you may find more information about this topic on the website that shows on our screen.
