Attorney LaXavier Hood is a Senior Associate Attorney at Virquez Law where she represents clients in Personal Injury, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Premise Liability, Wrongful Death, and Workers’ Compensation cases, and uses her unique experience in representing both injured individuals and corporations to achieve the best results for clients.
Attorney Hood has over 30 years of experience in personal injury and workers’ compensation cases, during which time she represented both individuals as well as employers, third-party administrators, self-insured entities, a university, hospitals, local school districts, and insurance companies at two Atlanta insurance defense law firms.
Attorney Hood also gained valuable experience as an Administrative Attorney for the Chairman of the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation, Appellate Workers’ Compensation Judge James Oxendine, where she provided advice and counsel to the Chairman and other judges in workers’ compensation cases, and as a law clerk for Judge G. Alan Blackburn, former Chief Judge, at the Georgia Court of Appeals where she reviewed appeals in criminal and civil cases, including cases involving automobile accidents, premise liability, slip and fall, and wrongful death. Attorney Hood also previously served as the Managing Attorney for the Workers’ Compensation Section of a metro-Atlanta Insurance Defense firm. She has been successful in obtaining optimal results for clients both in litigating cases to jury verdicts and in settling hundreds of cases at mediation, resulting in millions of dollars in recovery for clients.
Attorney Hood has been previously active in local Bar Associations and Insurance organizations, including the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys where she served as past Vice President and Treasurer, and the Atlanta Claims Association as a member of the Board of Directors.
